Latest Sear News

There has been a lot of activity on the Sear front since the last release. Most importantly, long standing rotation bugs have been fixed which now allows access to the buildings in the village and allows correct rendering of items such as a lit torch. Previously entering a building had unpredictable results and wielding the torch did not render the fire.
The Cal3D goblin by Damien has been added to sear-media and a new combat animation by munin has been added to malebuilder model. These media updates are available to the current release of Sear by using WFUT to update the media.
The inventory dialog has now been updated to stack items with the same name instead of showing a separate entry for each item.
In other news, the first stage of an overhaul in the rendering code has nearly been finished. A common Static/Dynamic Object class has been created to separate individual mesh loading and animating from the rendering process. The next stage is to use these directly in the render queue (instead of the models as a whole) and sort into a more efficient rendering order. As always, nightly builds of development Sear for Linux and Windows are available through WFUT on the sear-devel-linux and sear-devel-win32 channels.
